The annual Strengthening Communities Hui has moved entirely online due to the continued Covid-19 situation. This notice to ZWN members and supporters is to update you on the plan. While we are disappointed not to be able to gather, we hope that the free online format may allow wider participation.
So let’s do what networks do best: connect and share.
Refunds
First things first, for anyone who has already registered and paid to attend the Hui, refunds will be processed automatically to you. We will be refunding all of the money that we are able: please note that the Humanitx booking system charges a booking fee of approximately $30/per ticket.
Programme:
The conference programme for the three streams (Community Energy Network, Environment Hubs Aotearoa and the Zero Waste Network) is now online. More details about each of these will be posted in the next few days. Please note, for most sessions you will need to register, and while many sessions will be open to the public, there maybe sessions that are limited strictly to network members.
Keynote speaker:
One of the highlights of the annual Hui is the keynote speaker. The theme this year is Collective Action on Climate Change so who better to discuss this than the Minister of Climate Change James Shaw. The keynote will be on Friday, 17 September at 9am.
Participation
While online events don’t have quite the same feel as getting together in person, we’ve got some creative ideas for getting people working together while staying safe in our bubbles. Stay tuned for details to sign up to the tools we will be using during the Hui.
We are so looking forward to connecting with you all at this important event. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dorte, ZWN Executive Officer.
