Who are these ‘internationally renowned’ speakers you speak of?

What’s so special about the kai?

Seeds to Feeds: “Seeds to Feeds aims to harness the power of local food experiences to connect people – to each other, themselves, and their place.” Welcome to Seeds to Feeds

  • Sarah will introduce you to their work, and where your kai has come from. Less ‘don’t play with your food’ more ‘this is the local journey and power to connect of your kai’.

Topics/What’s been covered?

Construction and demolition waste is the largest portion [56%] of total waste to landfill, both locally and across the Wellington region. While it’s all well and good to know the numbers, what’s better is pathways to be tackling this material mountain.

– Matthew joins us to be talking about the infrastructure for resource recovery.

– Emina shares her professional practice of materiality, sustainable design, and international perspectives.

– Kyle speaks to his company’s journey to be dramatically reducing the amount of waste that needs to go to landfill from residential builds, and the early days of working with OZWH’s Ben.

Your ticket* includes a delicious lunch, and afterwards, a guided tour of the region’s newest community-focused resource recovery centre – Otaihanga Zero Waste – Sustainability Trust Wellington (sustaintrust.org.nz)

*Waste Forum event costs are partly covered by host Councils (but do not fully cover the costs of running the event). Kāpiti Coast Waste Forum August 2024 is especially grateful to the Wellington region Waste Forum committee for financial support to allow more people to attend, and to support speakers from out of region to visit.
